In my studies,...going to several shops throughout Tokyo in the past week, I have come to one solid conclusion, I DO NOT LIKE BUYING PANTS IN JAPAN.
Not only does the crotch area feel like at least one of my guys if gonna head north for safety, BUT! a new discovery!
I had been trying on several pairs of pants and I hated every pair for the most part. With my limited knowledge of bone structures and my observations from those around me, I come to a weak conclusion that not only do Japanese Men lack an ass for the most part, their bone structure is similar to a Western Female's in the waist area. In Japan, men seem to have an ass that hangs a bit farther below their waist line than Western Men. Thus, the back pockets are located lower and and the tightness of these jeans is found in rather unusual spots. I expected that I would find the waist tight, since I am turning into a fucking fat ass, but I still can fit into 29 waist pants (though I am sure that a 30 would be better in the long run). The tightness is generally found in the lower portion of the crotch and below my waist but above mid-ass cheek. I also thought of another observation I have made, but I will spare you that observation as that is too personal to share.
Furthermore! Pants sizes are based more upon waist size than waist and length, a factor that generally doesn't conform to the various proportions of Western Women. To make things worst, all of them are straight leg pants, which just piss me off. I hate the stove pipe jeans and I hate straight fit jeans. What happened to relaxed fit or something that is a bit baggier below the thigh area? If I want baggier, I have to buy pants that have a larger waist and let them hang a bit low, which ain't happening. Is it too much to ask to have pants not cling to my ankles as if it is showing off an attractive feature?
If you are a male and wear jeans you purchased in Japan, I seriously think that there are some issues. |

I am, well, fairly positive that you could or at least should be able to find some american cut pants there somewhere. Or, buy womens pants and see if they fit better. A long shot I admit. If there's a market there's a supplier.

I considered looking into women's jeans...but women here weigh next to nothing, so that would be like trying to put the Washington monument into a pin-hole sized pant leg. No puns intended.
American cut is the straight leg version, as far as I can tell. I have been to trendy shops down to outlet malls...all straight leg!

Hm, maybe that explains why Japanese men tend to be inherently more interesting to me than European ones.
haha, who knows...if personality is truly situated in the waist line, then you might have a point.

You could probably try the interweb.

I was considering, but with shipping and such, that will cost me more and take away from the cheapness that is sales season!
